Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF)

Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is a liquid solution used to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in diesel engines

What is DEF?

Composition: DEF is a mixture of 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water.
Function: It’s injected into the exhaust system to convert NOx into harmless nitrogen and water.

How Does DEF Work ?

Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR): DEF is used in SCR systems to reduce NOx emissions.
Process: DEF is injected into the exhaust system, where it’s converted into ammonia.
Reaction: The ammonia reacts with NOx over a catalyst, converting it into nitrogen and water.

IBC Tank
